Women: The Voices of Change On Saturday, August 19, 2017, the FDW hosted a spectacular luncheon as our annual fundraiser at the Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City, Georgia.

If you missed this event, you missed a great time and an opportunity to talk one-on-one with several of our Representatives and elected officials. This included our Key Note Speaker, Clayton County Commissioner Felicia Franklin-Warner; Georgia State Senator Valencia Seay; Georgia Representative Derrick Jackson; Georgia Representative Debra Bazemore; Fayette County Commissioner Charles Rousseau; The Mayor of Fayetteville, Rev Ed Johnson; and Fayette County School Board member, Mr. Leonard Presberg. Also, among our distinguished guest was the President of the Fayette County NAACP, Terrence Williamson.

Our guest speaker, Clayton County Commissioner Franklin-Warner, opened with an amazing acapella rendition of “Walk with Me”. By the end of her remarks, the entire audience was all “fired up and ready to go” as the “voices of change”. Our musician for this event, Reginald Dancil, added a soothing flair with his silky baritone vocals!

With the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and ad purchasers, ticket sales, and the proceeds from the silent auction, and 50/50 donations we met our fundraiser goals. The proceeds will benefit the FDW mission and programs, and democratic candidates.

Congratulations to the luncheon committee chair, Pearline Booth Greene, and her committee for putting together such a great event.
