Pre COVID – the members and friends of FDW would gather at FCDC HQ periodically to watch a video or listen to a speaker and then have a stimulating conversation and share their views and experience. Sip N Say had a tagline of “A Speakeasy for Women” because it was considered a safe place to discuss issues impacting our daily lives. We would drink wine and other beverages, enjoy potluck and food provided by the Political Action Committee.
With the success of our first Virtual Member Meeting using Zoom on April 18th, we thought it would be fun to try a virtual Sip N Say. Our intention was to keep it light-hearted as we have enough sadness and fear filling our days already. Mission accomplished. We got to hear from Candace Aaron, a candidate for Fayette County School Board, during the almost 2-hour social session. It was a fun time had by all — we talked about how we are coping with our new reality, haircare, made a toast, sang along with a political satire song and laughed a lot.
