Vice President

Governor Tim Walz is a champion for America’s working families. He enlisted in the Army National Guard when he turned 17 and served for 24 years, rising to the rank of Command Sergeant Major. He cut taxes for working families, lowered the cost of insulin, eliminated junk fees, signed paid leave into law, and protected women’s right to choose.

Fayetteville resident Maura Keller is a 26-year veteran with the US Army and former Atlanta Veteran’s Health worker. She’s running for Congress in Georgia’s 3rd District. Maura is ready to bring her wealth of experience, her ability to speak truth to power, and her drive for meaningful progress to Washington, DC. She stands firm in her commitment to advocate for economic opportunity, accessible healthcare, veterans’ rights, and the safeguarding of social security.

LUCY McBATH

Congress-6th District

Representative Lucy McBath is a wife, an author, and an advocate, but the most important title she will ever hold is “Jordan’s Mom.”After Jordan’s death, McBath dedicated her life to preventing other families from experiencing the same pain she did. Since taking her oath of office, McBath has sought bipartisan solutions to end gun violence, uplift small business and our economy, protect and serve our nation’s veterans, and lower the cost of health care and prescription drugs.

DAVID SCOTT

Congress-13th District

A longtime Civil Rights activist, in 2002, David Scott was elected to the United States Congress. He is currently in his tenth term representing Georgia’s Thirteenth Congressional District. He serves as the Senior Member of the Financial Services Committee, Chairman of the Agriculture Committee, and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Congressman Scott has secured over $367 million in federal funds for transportation projects in his district and $16,765,600 in casework savings for constituents.

As a veteran, he advocates for increased healthcare access, mental health support, and job training programs.

KENYA WICKS

Senate-District 34

Kenya Wicks has 30 years of dedicated service in the Army and will be honored to serve you. She wants to advocate for our senior rights and make sure all her constituents have access to affordable healthcare, reproductive freedom, medicare, and mental health resources. She is committed to community policing initiatives and equitable opportunities for small businesses. Kenya Wicks believes investing in education is investing in our community’s success.

DERRICK JACKSON

House-District 68

State Representative Derrick Jackson represents Georgia’s 68th House District. He is a retired military officer veteran with the U.S. Navy, corporate general manager, adjunct professor, non-profit board member and a community leader. Representative Jackson’s platform focuses on public health, mental health, education, justice, technology, military, infrastructure, and the economy.

Elected as State Representative to serve the citizens of House District 63 in 2016 which changed to District 69 in 2023, Debra Bazemore currently serves on the Governmental Affairs, Human Relations & Aging, Intergovernmental Coordination, Natural Resources, and Small Business Development committees. She served as the Chief Deputy Whip for the House Minority Caucus, Fulton County Delegation, Vice Chair, Women Legislative Committee, Vice Chair and creator, former Chair and now Vice Chair of the City of South Fulton House Delegation.

TOM THOMASON


House-District 73

Tom Thomason is a candidate for State House District 73. He is running because the State Legislature is not following the interests and needs of Georgians. His top issues are Medicaid expansion, women’s reproductive rights, rural health care, voting rights, and adequately funding public education. Mr. Thompson thinks the federal offices are very important, but local and state elections may affect your day-to-day life more than the federal elections.

Anthony Dickson is running for the GA House of Representatives as a dedicated champion of women’s reproductive rights, committed to expanding Medicaid, increasing the state minimum wage, and protecting our democracy. With a proven track record of service and leadership, Ms. Butler brings a wealth of experience and a passion for making a positive impact to the County Commission. As a commissioner, Ms. Butler will prioritize being fiscally responsible, public safety, expansion of health services, smart and sustainable growth, workforce recruitment, and housing attainability.

BOBBY JONES

County Commission-District 2

Bobby Jones is a Fayette native with a commitment to serve and has deep roots in the community. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 2001, Bobby achieved command in the United States Navy and served as a commissioned officer for 22 years. Mr. Jones believes in transparent government, keeping Fayette rural, supporting our first responders, and cutting government waste.

DARRYL HICKS

County Commission-District 5

Darryl Hicks Sr., is a distinguished member of the Georgia Ethics Commission and one-time Georgia Labor Commissioner nominee, was also chairman of the Board of Registration and Elections during the pivotal 2020 presidential elections and chaired the Fayette County Development Authority. With a remarkable career spanning both public service and the private sector, Hicks brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership to Fayette County.

School Board-District 1

Dr. Lydia Powell is a 25-year educator and educational leader. She is the mother of three children who are products of the Georgia Public School system. Lydia prioritizes effective leadership, fiscal responsibility, and commitment to create an equitable, inclusive, and transparent process for all stakeholders in our district.

KIM COX OWENS

School Board-District 3

Kim Cox Owens is a native of Atlanta with deep roots in the community, having attended Atlanta Public School before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Alabama A&M University. Her extensive experience, both professionally and personally, equips her with a unique blend of skills and insights that make her an outstanding candidate for the Fayette County Board of Education. She prioritizes community collaboration, parent outreach, and cradle-to-career pathways.

CATHERINE REMKES

School Board-District 5 (At Large)

Catherine Remkes has dedicated her professional life to education – teaching at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. She has a Master’s of Education in Mathematics Education from Georgia State University and has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of students while advancing the profession for teachers. Raised in Fayette County and a graduate of the Fayette County school system, Catherine Remkes has experienced our schools from every angle; a student, a teacher, and a parent.

Clerk of Superior Court

Tanya Corbin is a highly qualified, degreed paralegal with extensive experience as a victim advocate and a demonstrated commitment to public service. Her candidacy brings a promise of dedicated service along with the qualities necessary to serve her community effectively. She envisions the Clerk’s office as more than just a repository of records, it has the potential to serve our community in multifaceted ways.

ANGELA HAYNES

Tax Commissioner – Fayette County

Angela Haynes is a Certified Public Accountant who has lived in Fayette County for over 20 years. She currently serves as the Fayette County Democratic Committee’s Treasurer. She has worked at Prudential, Atlanta History Center, Atlanta Life, Fannie Mae, and in many more roles as a finance officer. Ms. Haynes is committed to connecting with and listening to Fayette County residents. As Fayette County Tax Commissioner, her goal will be to prioritize transparency and communication above all else.
